Metal-Organic Framework-Derived CeO2 Supported Pd Catalyst and Its Application for Catalytic Oxidation

Abstract  In order to improve the catalytic activity of supported Pd-based catalysts for oxidation of low concentration CO, Pd-CeO2 catalyst was prepared by introducing Pd into the metal-organic framework (MOF) and subsequent pyrolyzing. The catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR) and Raman spectroscopy. The catalytic performance for CO oxidation was investigated in a fixed-bed reactor. The results showed that MOF-derived preparation method could effectively prevent the agglomeration and loss of Pd in the supported Pd-CeO2 catalyst, facilitated the metal-support interaction between Pd and CeO2 during pyrolysis and improved the concentration of surface oxygen vacancy, leading to the 90% conversion of CO at 162 ℃ over Pd-CeO2 catalyst.
