Abstract In order to meet the requirements of establishing a new clean and energy-saving society, a process of deep desulfurization with annual output of 1.3 million tons of sulfur-containing waste gas was developed using denitrified coking stack waster gas as the source of waste gas. SO2 in the flue waste gas was removed by the triple-process of ammonia desulfurization-NADS-sulfonation, and p-toluenesulfonic acid and by-product ammonium sulfate were produced by using the removed sulfur. The whole process was simulated by Aspen Plus software. The calculated results showed SO2 was removed by 10 mg/Nm3 in the waste gas to meet the requirement of SO2 emission. In addition, the structure and operation conditions of desulfurizer and acidolysis tower were improved and innovated to realize SO2 enrichment and regeneration. And the double effect evaporation crystallization process was adopted for ammonium sulfate resource utilization. The process was further optimized through the above innovation and improvement.
