Abstract  The stability and regenerability of isomerization catalyst for 2-butene to 1-butene were investigated in a fixed bed reactor during 1 800 h using C4 olefin as raw material and solid acid as catalyst. The catalyst was characterized by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), pyridine adsorption infrared spectroscopy(Py-IR), physical absorption analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. The results showed that the conversion of 2-butene and yield of 1-butene reached 22% and 21%, respectively. The activity and yield of the regenerated catalyst were almost the same as those of fresh catalyst. In addition, The morphology, acid contents and pore structure parameters of regenerated catalyst were similar to those of fresh catalyst.
